When I think of Lucy, I remember her mouth wrestling with Levi, stealing toys from Grace and getting into the pool before the rest of the litter. One of the comments another EPW made was "Lucy is already reading at a 5th grade level."
Lucy, what will we do without you? I want to cry right now.
To the family that gets to raise her: I think you will have the time of your life with Lucy.
To the veteran that Lucy will eventually serve: You are lucky to have such a smart dog. I know she will serve you with much devotion.
I wish everyone whose life that Lucy touches much happiness.
To the EPWs that watch the live cam more than me: If you would be so kind to share a Lucy story, think of HER wounded warrior who could one day stumble upon this...and bring a smile to his/her face by recounting a favorite memory!
Dear sweet Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI sit here with tears flowing down my cheeks knowing in just a short while I will not have the ability to watch you with your siblings.
You are such a sweet little girl yet all tomboy at the same time. You kept up with your brother Levi and showed him that you're not going to take any gruff from him! Good girl! My most favorite memory is of you climbing into the pink cradle and claiming it as your own. I remember the first time you crawled into the cradle you looked so tiny and now you can barely fit yet, you still preserver to claim your cradle.
Lucy sweetie you will be missed by all I am sure. Your siblings, the big dogs, your human family and your EPW family. I know you are destined for greatness and you will be a lifelong companion for a wounded warrior.
All my best precious Lucy.
Lucy my little I Love Lucy girl. You are fearless and the first to try something new, like trying out the pool and figuring out how to open the gate. You stole my heart right from the beginning. I am so proud of you and the joy you have brought to so many. Sending you off on your life mission with lots of love.
ReplyDeleteLUCY ... Loveable Unconditonally Cute You ... LUCY
ReplyDeleteYou and your antics will be missed....whomever you go to live with in the short or long term is in for some fun x
Oh, I just found out that Sweet Lucy will be leaving shortly, too. We will miss seeing her each day! It is sad getting to this stage of the program because it has been such a pleasure to watch all the pups each day.
ReplyDeleteI do consider myself an EPW but I wasn't able to really distinguish which pup was which most of the time...I just love and enjoy them all equally! A few times I do recall seeing Lucy in a very enthusiastic tug-of-war with two of her siblings. I think she is a pretty tenacious little lady!!! Good luck Sweet Lucy! I hope you have a fantastic life. You have gotten such a great start with Molly and Company...I wish nothing but the very best for you and your human!
Hugs and kisses,
Grandpups4Me
Oh Lucy! Now, you my dear girl, will go on to the next phase of your wonderful life! You are such a riot to watch and such a smart girl! Please remember all of us as you go on to be an important part of such a wonderful program. I know you will miss your siblings, Mia, Rick, Molly and Lisa but I also know that your new puppy parents will take all of their place with joy and love. You are such a character that I know your future Vet will be blessed to have you in their life. You must remember that you will always be a part of so many lives that you have affected in wonderful ways. Be sweet dear girl and good luck with your future endeavers.
ReplyDeleteWe all love you to pieces!
Oh how I will miss little "Pinky Girl". Lucy is special, as all of them are. Lucy made me laugh out loud when I was watching her. Go with God Miss Lucy girl!! *sniff sniff*
ReplyDeleteLucy, Lucy, Lucy. Thank you for being there and always making us laugh. God speed and good luck with your new family. Keep in touch from time to time so we know you are OK!
ReplyDeleteLucy, you've got some 'splaining to do! Some lucky puppy parents will have a little spit-fire on their hands when you move into your new home. I can just see the joy in the hearts of the many many lives you have touched in your short time on this earth and the ones to come. You are a special little girl - pretty in pink - and your road ahead is a paved with goodness. You will do beautifully in school, getting you ready for your big girl job. You are a curious one, you are. Have fun, find a new substitute for that pink cradle and cuddle right in. You are a sweet, smart, energetic bundle of fluff and cuteness. Remember, we loved you first, but certainly not last. You are a special one, Lucy.
ReplyDeleteOh Lucy, I cry as I write this. You are my favorite (don't tell) because my beloved dog was named Lucy. I was so excited when they gave yoy the name. You have been a delight to watch & I'm sure you will continue to delight everyone you meet through out your life. We were the first to love you & will miss you terribly. God Bless You Lucy !!!
ReplyDeleteMy sweet stubborn curious fearless Lucy ... how I'm going to miss you!! You've stolen a lot of hearts in your 9 short weeks of life, little girl. I suspect you're going to spend your entire life doing that very same thing. You don't know it yet but you have a very special mission in life, one that you were born for. I know you'll do well and I hope you'll find joy and love in doing it. It's so hard saying goodbye but I wouldn't have missed this experience for all the world.

ReplyDeleteLuce, your bold, brave, carefree spunk is and will be an inspiration to many. You have been a favorite of many since we first tuned in. Your personality is so energetic, yet you are also one of the most loving, kind and calm souls. You are a blessing.
ReplyDeleteMy little Lucy girl! You were the first of the pups to really grab my attention, always the rambunctious one. You were often the first to wake up after a nap, and you would always make sure your sisters and brother were awake too! Tug-of-war seems to be your favorite game, even if it was being played with your siblings' tails :) Whichever family who gets to take you in, and whichever Veteran will eventually call you their service dog, will be completely lucky to have such an adorable, playful, smart and boisterous little dog in their lives! I'll miss seeing you on the puppy cam, Lucy. Take care <3
ReplyDeletelucy goosie! my favorite of the puppies. always so feisty, biting at the tails of your sisters and brother when they walk past you. the family that continues raising you will certainly have fun with your playful personality, and i'm sure you will to a fantastic job cheering up whichever lucky vet you end up serving. <3<3<3
ReplyDeleteTo Lucy's New Parents -
ReplyDeleteJust know you are now entrusted with a truly special angel. She is opinionated, loving, playful, loyal, and has already brought joy and healing to so many people.
I watch these little ones everyday and find myself feeling like if only for a moment everything is ok.
Please remember each night before going to sleep to kiss her and let her know how truly special and loved she really is.
Dear little feisty Lucy, you've never been known to back down when the play gets rough and tumble. Bring your energy and love and attitude to your new foster family and to your forever veteran. They cannot help but love you as I have these 10 weeks.
ReplyDeleteAhh, Lucy, Lucy - you will be missed. You were always raring to go, so full of energy. You have a big mission ahead of you. Take all of the love that we have given you and pay it forward to someone who is in need of your love. You have brightened my days and I thank you for that, little one. The veteran that you share your life with will be so very lucky to have your friendship and love. Be well, Lucy. <3
ReplyDeleteSweet, sassy Lucy,
ReplyDeleteWe know you already know this - but you hold a very special place in all of our hearts. You wiggled your way in there one adorable episode at a time. You seemed to be the first puppy to develop an outstanding personality. You are our little explorer - first in the pool, first in the cradle, first to run with the big dogs. I know that you will make a fine, smart, attentive, all around wonderful service dog for one of our nation's heroes one day. We send you off with heavy hearts - but not because they're full of sadness, but full of love, excitement, and honor for watching you grow into as beautiful young lady. We love you, Lucy!
Lucy, Lucy, Lucy ... the Dennis the Menace and Eddie Haskell of the bunch. Smart, inquisitive, fearless little girl. An angel with a cockeyed halo. From the get-go, you mesmerized me. Know that you - and all of your sisters and big bro - are so very special to so many of us. You will do great things, lil wee one, no doubt about it, and we send you off on your new journey with lots of love, pride and a touch of sadness. xoxox
ReplyDeleteSweet Lucy, I know you will make your foster family and your "forever" mom or dad proud! Those of us that have watched you grow are very proud of you. Stay safe my little fur baby and know that you and your new mom/dad are true American Heros. I hope we will get to see pictures and progress reports of you with your new family. You are one special girl, Miss Lucy!
ReplyDeleteLucy, Lucy, Lucy! You have stolen the hearts of many with your crazy antics and fearless attempts at many new ventures. I'll always remember you as being the first in the pool. And then you mastered the cradle with ease and claimed it as your own. Now it's time for you to spread your blessed wings my little angle...time for you to continue your journey to steal the hearts of one of our many war heros. Love and cherish them as only you know how. We will miss you dearly!!
ReplyDeleteOh Lucy…you are my favorite but don't tell your siblings. Your name suits you to a tee! You always make me laugh, and get into mischief with an impish delight. I know that you will find a great foster mom and a wonderful soldier who will love you, and need your love of life. I can already tell that you will be a great service dog and loving companion---a special role for a special puppy. Hugs, pets, and belly rubs to you, Sweetie!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Lucy--Hard to stop the tears as I know I won't wake in the morning and turn on the webcam to watch you grow and laugh at your antics. A big hug for you and I know your special soldier will know right away what a special dog you are.
ReplyDeleteLucy, If someone has to leave first then I guess it should be you because you are such an extravert! Pink is for girls and Lucy! I'm not worried about you because you make things happen. You went toe to toe with your brother Levi -- who says he needs to be around boy puppies? Not with you around. Best wishes Lucy. Love, Marilyn
ReplyDeleteOh Miss Lucy! What will we ever do without your silly little antics! As I told your sister, we will miss you something awful but know that you will be doing the work you were born to do. I have enjoyed your mischievous side as well as your sweet side. You always walk around the pens looking for your next adventure. Well, you are about to begin the biggest adventure of your life! We all love you and know that you will do great and make us proud! Thank you for all the joy you have given so many people around the world.
ReplyDeleteTake care sweet Lucy!
Precious Lucy... Miss Fearless! I will miss watching you explore & play with your brother and sisters. You always seemed to be the one that frolicked when everyone else was sleeping. Always willing to be the first.
ReplyDeleteYou will conquer the hearts of everyone you meet along your journey! I wish you well and know you will fulfill the needs of a very special person with your warm heart & sense of adventure.
Big big hug!
Lucy, It is hard to type with tears flowing down my cheeks. They are a combination of not wanting to let you go, to the pride of a "mama" who is so proud as she stands and waves goodbye! You grabbed my heart from the first day I watched, when you were just a wee, wee one. You share the name with our youngest grand-daughter who is just 7 months old. You and your siblings came into my life just a couple of months after I said goodbye to my bestest furry friend of all time. Mr. Mobywanknoby was just like you, always the leader, as full of fun and quick to grab your heart strings. I had shed so many tears because of his passing and you, my little angel, have helped to heal this old heart. I love you and I can never thank you and your siblings, your furry mama, Holly, and most of all Molly, Rick and Mia for letting me heal at the most wonderful place on earth! Go into the world little girl, stand tall, BE LUCY, and you will touch so many more lives than the thousands of us who have already been touched by you. To the Warrior who gets the joy and priviledge of having you as his service dog and his friend, you my friend are a part of a very large and loving family...LUCY's Family! We have never met you but we love you already. Take care of our girl as she will take care of you, too.
ReplyDeleteSweet Lucy. You have such great things to do. This is the first step to completing a mission you have in life. In just a few short weeks you have touched many you will never know, but you have changed them. I wish you a long and healthy life sweet girl. Oh how blessed some family is about to become!
ReplyDeleteI agree....they all have been a pleasure to watch...
DeleteLucy sweetheart, you stole my heart the first time I saw you playing like the wild puppy you are. You are so smart and full of life. I know your new life holds exciting and wonderful things for you and you will win your way into everyone's heart you meet. I hope that you can feel the love that we all have for you and all of you and that you go forward with that in your heart. There will always be a place in my heart for you and I send you hugs and kisses for your journey. klmhicks
ReplyDeleteLucy. The class clown, the prankster, the rambunctious one. When you were newborn, I would watch you all sleep, well, except for you pink girl. You were always crawling over sleeping siblings, always awake when everyone else was asleep, always full of spunk. You caught my heart from the beginning and I have loved you ever since. You have made me laugh and now I cry as I say goodbye… tears of bittersweet joy because I will miss you, but you have such an important job to do, and I know you will do it with “Lucy style”.
ReplyDeleteDear Lucy from BrendaS
ReplyDeleteI just wrote your sister Abby a note.So right now I am very sad.
Being colorblind in off colors and with the cam I couldn't always tell who was who. Seems everytime someone did something totally off the charts cute or new it was you! The day of the great escape! You were the first, I laughed so hard..First in the pool..Your soldier has to be extra special. Your foster family will need to keep you in sight at all times you little rascal. Like with Abby, you made my heart happy again. You and your brother and sisters. I've had sooo many losses so I just don't believe I found you all by accident, I believe divine intervention stepped in because I needed to laugh and love and hope and I do hope good things for all of you.
Such a special bunch, your job will be to serve..There is no better job to have as i'm sure your soldier will tell you along with all of your soldiers deepest secrets. Dear sweet pup, you're a lucky pup to serve those who serve our country. Give your soldier lots of love and kisses! I will never forget you, your puppy breathe your furry coat..And those extremely sharp teeth! God speed little Lucy, love Brenda S
<3
DeleteOh sweet, crazy Lucy. I will miss you so very much. I know as a mother that we never have favorites. Now don't tell anyone... but you have always been my favorite. You are not only beautiful, but you are such a little spitfire! I love that about you. My favorite memory of you is when you decided that the pink cradle was yours. And only yours. And the first time I saw you knock one of your sisters out of the cradle and take it over for yourself ... I just knew you were the fearless, spunky girl I fell in love with. I will miss you so much, but I also know you were meant to do great things. Your soldier is a VERY lucky person. You just be yourself and be there for your soldier and I promise you.... you will be showered with love and gratitude in return. Bless you little Lucy. I love you... Kim/Illinois
ReplyDeleteLucy, you feisty little thing you! I'm going to miss you and your adorable antics so much! You have been such a joy to watch grow... you're always so curious! I know that a special soldier is going to be very lucky to have you come into their lives, just as we have all been very lucky. We Love You Sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteI wished it were me taking one of these adorable pups....the sweetest kids..
ReplyDeleteThat little bright pink collar was always active on our screens. Whether it was fighting off Levi for control of the side or pulling tails or taking the first dip in the pool, Lucy was always there. The family that will get to raise Lucy while she is in training will have a lot of fun experiences with her. Love her for all of us.
ReplyDeleteLucy, you are a frisky little spirit with so much love to give. You will touch so many human hearts. God speed little pup.
ReplyDeleteLucy, baby, your beautiful sweet face each time I saw you I fell in love more and more, along with Abby, Grace, Penny, Ruby and Levi. But you have been chosen to take your next path in your life and that is to become a working puppy for a wounded warrior. I am so grateful your new family have introduced themselves to us and we all look forward to hearing and seeing updates about you.
ReplyDeleteYou will be dearly missed!
I am not a GUEST PERSON, Lucy. I am qridnhi and I have been watching you since you were about two weeks old. Just wanted to tell you :-)
DeleteLUCY. You were born for service and without any training or knowledge you have already provided just that to all of us EPWs. I have fallen asleep watching you and laughed until my sides hurt. I have dreaded the day I would have to say good-bye to you and your siblings. And now it begins. To your new parents and your eventual warrior parent - take extra good care of this extra special angel!! She comes to you with lots of love.
ReplyDeleteLittle Lucy, I have been watching you for several weeks and have grown to love you as if you were my own. You and your siblings have put joy and a smile in my heart again. I have loved watching you sleep, play, and grow. I pray you will have a wonderful, blessed life and touch everyone's heart you meet, as much as you have mine. I will never forget you or your siblings. God bless you always.
ReplyDeleteMiss Lucy
ReplyDeleteThe Leader of the Pack, Alpha Female, first to go into the pool, first to do almost whatever! Strong willed with a purpose. I think you know what your mission is & you're preparing well. I have NO doubts as to how well you'll do. You've provided us with so many laughs & cheers, I know you'll continue to do the same for your Forever Family. A note to TSKeller, GOOD LUCK with her! ;-D

To the people in Lucy's future life - she has brought back my 16 years with my little Benji type Lucy, a foundling who turned out to be super smart, tenacious, a loving little dog. She gave me loyalty and joy all her life. Your Lucy will be the same. Knowing she has a purpose in life, she is a lucky dog. And you are such lucky future Lucy parents.
ReplyDeleteAhhh Lucy! There are so many words to describe you - loveable - fiesty - loyal - as the tears flow i will miss, even though I never touched your furr or felt the nip of your "puppy teeth" I feel so much love for you.
ReplyDeleteYour Puppy Parents hav been choosen by your Mama Molly and she knows how wellyou will do and that you are ready for the next big step in your life.
I wlll see you at Graduation.
Through tears - I can say Love you bunches and I am so proud of you, I hear your puppy parents are going to keep us updated, this is how I know they will be perfect for you.
love Love Love, Holleylover
Dear Sweet Lucy: It's been such a joy watching you for the first 10 weeks of your precious life. You were the one who could keep up with your brother, Levi, with your rambunctious style. You were oftentimes the one getting all the other pups going. You love playing tug-o-war playing on the slide and playing in the pool, but the pink cradle - well let's just say you were Queen of the Cradle! Lucy, Graduation Day is approaching when you go live with your new family who will be wonderful to you. You will go on to do great things in your service to our wounded warriors. Mama Holly, along with Molly, Rick and Mia, have prepared you admirably. There's an awful lot of folks who will be cheering for you, and I'm proud to say I'm one of those. Thank you, Lucy, for all he joy you brought to many peoples lives. I love you, Lucy!!!

Oh My ----- LUCY!!! YOU'VE GOT SOME 'SPLAINING TO DO!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh what a joy you have been. Never a dull moment with you. From the beginning you were the "Energizer Bunny". The first one awake and you would immediately start to wake your siblings. You were the first to discover your brother and sisters had tails and boy did you like to tug on them. I don't know how it didn't hurt them because there were times you were literally dragging them across the floor for a few inches and I will never forget watching you pull one of your sisters (I don't know which one) down the slide backwards by her tail.
Oh how you loved the pink cradle. You were the first to master not only climbing into it but to be able to sit there while looking around your kingdom and not fall out even when it was rocking. I swear sometimes I thought you were deliberately rocking it. I loved when you would play "Queen of the Cradle" and fight off anyone who tried to join you in the cradle. Sometimes it was you in the cradle and two of your siblings trying to pull you down. If they succeeded, it didn't last long before you pulled them out and you were back in place. I remember you spread out sleeping in the cradle so peaceful. Now, I think you are too big to spread completely out in the cradle. I really think you need a pink cradle to take to your new home (a little larger than the one you currently enjoy).
You and Levi were such close buddies always wrestling and chasing each other and playing together.
I spent a lot of time laughing out loud and thinking if anyone saw me sitting here alone laughing like that, they might think I was a little crazy.
Oh Lucy, you are destined for great things. You are such a leader and so full of confidence. You are always so sure of yourself and your ability to accomplish whatever you want to do. You were the first to get into the pool acting like "what is this? Let's check it out".
I can't forget to mention the ice block. So funny the way you would just push everyone aside and lay across it with your chest. I could just hear you saying "this is my spot".
My sweet, tenacious, smart, funny, joyful, energetic, strong Lucy. I will miss you. But I am so proud of the wonderful puppy you are and I know you will do magnificently in your new career. You will bring so much joy, love, confidence, and well being to those you will serve.
I know Molly, Rick & Mia will miss you but I know they are so proud of you. Thank you Molly, Rick & Mia for all you do to bring these puppies to our warriors who have sacrificed so much for us.
Go Lucy --- Go show the world how much you have to offer.
To Lucy's new parents: I know you understand you are receiving an incredible gift in Lucy and your lives will never be the same. Take care of her and give her kisses and hugs of me.
I love you Lucy!!
Jeanette
Lucy will be great with young children, especially boys. She is a feisty puppy dog with a lot of energy and some mischief. For Lucy's new human family, I hope you will enjoy and love Lucy as much as we (extreme puppy watchers of the explore.org cam) have. Please give her many scratches, hugs, and kisses for us.
ReplyDeleteLucy,
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? You have brought such joy to all of us. I will miss you dearly but I know your path in life will be a great one. You are strong, independent and beautiful. You are going on to bigger and better things. You will give comfort, security and all your love to someone who truly deserves it. Keep growing into that special dog we all know you can and will be. Mind your parents, but most of all have fun and enjoy your life. I know your new parents will give you lots of hugs and kisses. Just remember they are being sent from us, the one’s that watched you grow from a small little pup to an outstanding lady. And never ever forget, wherever you are that we love you and are always thinking of you.
Alice Belthoff
My husband and I have been watching you babies since the first day the camera came on. We check in on you every day.I have saved all of your pictures. We love all of you babies and we will think of you often. Lucy you are a special little girl and your new parents are very lucky to have you and they are going to help you prepare for the next step in your journey.
ReplyDeleteI love you!!!
Candy
Lucy, you are a jewel. Spending the several hours with you before you went to live with your new family, you make my heart sing! You have a big heart and will only do and be the best service dog. It's the start of a new journey without your brother and sisters, but you will never forget the joy living with Rick, Molly and Mia. God bless your journey and make hearts sing wherever and whomever you meet!
ReplyDeleteLove you girl!

Lucy, with a name that means light,
ReplyDeleteyou are one to shine…
Always the first to explore,
you lead.
Always the one to figure out ways of accomplishing that which you wish to achieve;
Cradle hopping towel wrangling instigator of a three way tug of war;
Just one example of your intelligence paying off to get a new “toy.”
To most you were the clown,
the one who instigated play in such adorable ways.
And, like most clowns, beneath the cheerful surface
lies a depth of soul most run from.
One who has an understanding of wounds and pain that many hide from self and others out of fear, shame and pride.
An alpha energy that wishes to serve and longs to learn,
Creates a most attentive pupil of all that will be expected and needed of you.
AND, you will be the light that shines love upon all those that train you, love you and have the blessing of meeting you.
That same alpha energy will be what is needed by those who are
locked in a prison of pain and suffering, afraid of letting anyone in,
yet awaiting someone to dare come in,
someone who will not run from the pain they fear;
someone who will not run from all that needs to be said;
someone who can be totally present and not need to run or shut down.
Lucy, you are the loving force that many need to shine the light of love upon
a darkness so grim, that only death seems to offer any respite.
You are the clown to bring a smile to that very same face.
You are the angel that will fly to all in need,
upon the wings of love and laughter.
Lucy, with a name that means light,
you are one to shine…
And YOU SURE DO!!
Love,
Athena
Lucy, you have such a big and meaningful job ahead of you. You will make your family proud.

Lovely Lucy – You have delighted thousands of fans with your daring antics. You are so smart and so eager to explore everything in sight. You will be a wonderful service dog for a wounded Veteran
ReplyDeleteWow, the most posts so far!
ReplyDeleteLucy,
Always appearing to be the big bully of the family, but when I was there, you were nothing but cuddly and loving.
I've learned so much from you. How to have a zest for life and to let nothing stand in my way.
You are a beautiful soul and I miss you so much.
With all my love,
Harli's-mama
